‘Don’t let tussle for leadership of the House, divide you’

POLITICS:

The six House of Assembly members representing Okigwe zone, elected under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, have been enjoined to work together to ensure effective and robust representation for Okigwe zone.

They have also been urged to ensure that the tussle for the position of speaker in the House does bring division among them.

Zonal Co-ordinator, Youth Matrix, a youth pressure group, Hon. Chinagorom Cyracuse who gave this charge while answering questions from newsmen in Owerri, Imo State recently congratulated the six House of Assembly members representing Okigwe zone.

Hon. Chinagorom called on them to work together to make sure they deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the zone adding that it is only when they are united they can forge a common front to fight the cause of the zone.

“I want to congratulate Hon. Acho Ihim (Okigwe LGA), Hon.  Chinedu Offor (Onuimo LGA), Hon. Lawman Duruji (Ehime Mbano LGA), Hon. Uche Ejiogu (Ihitte Uboma LGA) and Barr. Kennedy Ibeh (Obowo LGA) on their electoral victory under the platform the All Progressives Congress. Their victory is victory for youth emancipation, youth development, infrastructural development and human capital development for Okigwe zone.

“You will recall that among the three zones in the state, Okigwe zone is the least developed. So with these six people, the youths and the people of Okigwe zone are repositioning themselves for greater things to come apart from ensuring that there is stability and cordial relationship between the executive and the legislature. This is the time of Okigwe zone to develop and we want nothing short of this.

“While I congratulate these six lawmakers, I urge them to apply maturity and merit in the selection of the new speaker of the House. The youths of Okigwe zone do not expect the tussle for the leadership of the House to bring division among them.

“We expect them that the foremost thing on their mind should unite to deliver dividends of democracy to the youths and people of Okigwe zone. We want nothing short of this”, he said.
