Wali succeds Jega as INEC boss
Ambassador (Dr.) Mohammad Ahmad Wali, a national commissioner of the INEC from Sokoto State, has been named the new chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Incidentally, Wali's tenure as commissioner also expires on August 11, 2015; a position he has held since 2010. Prof Jega who was appointed chairman of the commission by former President Goodluck Jonathan on June 30, 2010 conducted two elections – 2011 and 2015 general elections which was adjudged free and fair by observers from across the globe.
