What many participants fail to understand is that once you are contesting for a position, you have already won. The reason for this assertion is that contesting for a position in an organization especially IMSU alumni means that you have chosen to serve others and giving the people to be served an opportunity to select who they prefer to serve them at that point in time. What this means is that if others are eating, you have to wait to ensure they are comfortable before you can have yours. The welfare of the people will be your utmost concern. If they people are crying you are crying and if they celebrating you are  celebrating. Whoever that did not emer

ALEX EKWUEME: THE ARENA WITH A PURPOSE

Prof .Chukwuma Charles SOLUDO, CFR In October 2012, I chaired the Committee that organized Dr. Alex Ekwueme’s 80th birthday ceremonies. On the 16th of October, we organized an international colloquium on “Nigerian Federalism: Building on the Ekwueme Legacy” at the ThisDay Dome Abuja—and this was the highpoint of the 80th birthday anniversary. After some five years and three months, I am here today, at the Federal Polytechnic Oko that has Alex Ekwueme’s imprimatur, to speak as we bid him farewell. For me, the loss is huge and the grief very deep. May his giant soul rest in peace! Yes, Dr. (Chief) Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme, GCON (Ide Aguata na Orumba) is dead. Thereafter, the deceased joins the list of the forgotten dead or occasionally but perfunctorily remembered in sombre memorial events, while
