The issue is that failure to educate larger populations anywhere reduces the ability of the educated segment of the society to transact. Large populations consigned to educationally disadvantaged states permanently are a drag to economic growth and will impact everybody, businesses, educated people and permanently divide the country along social and economic lines compounding religious and ethnic divide.

Time is ripe for a policy that will end educational disadvantage by a federal govt enforced educational investment program that will end disadvantage. Educational investment can be made in compliance to the Fundamental objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy 1999 Constitution. NASS can enact a law to make it justiciable per EFCC example.

Strategies that worked in Anambra, Delta, Ogun can be studied and scaled. Funding for teacher training, infrastructure improvement can be sourced from State budgets, UBEC and donor funding targeted at the educationally disadvantaged states over 12 years with a sunset clause that preferential admissions will be gradually phased out by year 15

Awolowo did it in the SW. Zik/Okpara/Missionaries did it in SE. We can do it in the North. It will benefit everybody, lift millions out of poverty and position Nigeria as Manpower hub in Africa. Southern businesses will benefit from a larger Northern market and same for North produce.

An educated population is a fertile ground for prosperity. An illiterate large population is a drag on everybody just like Chad and Niger are provide spaces for terrorists to operate and depend on Nigeria for their survival. states permanently are a drag to economic growth and will impact everybody, businesses, educated people and permanently divide the country along social and economic lines compounding religious and ethnic divide.
