Controversy trails salary payment in Abia

Controversy has trailed the recent commencement of payment of backlog of salaries of some workers in Abia state.

Our correspondent gathered that though the state government has started paying the outstanding salaries, there are discrepancies in the payment format.

According to a staff in one of the parastatals, while some were paid salary for March, others recieved payment for the month of February.

"I dont understand what is going on in government right now. Though we have recieved payment of one month salary, for some the salary is for March while for others, it is for February", she said.

Abia Chapter to storm Aba for historic meeting
