The Abia State distinctive chapter of Imo State University Alumni Association, has concluded arrangements to visit St. Vincent De Paul motherless babies home, Umuafai, Umuahia on Sunday, January 27 as part of the association's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The charity visit was part of the resolutions made recently at the association's monthly general meeting in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.

According to the Abia state chapter chairman, Mr. Creespo Epuzoaju, the charity visit is an important function of the chapter and should be taken seriously by all members.

While calling on all graduates of Imo State University, Owerri to come out in their numbers, Mr. Epuzoaju noted that members of the association will converge at Royal Point Hotel, no. 1 Finbarr's by Abiriba street Umuahia, Abia State by 3.30pm.

The state chairman further stressed the need for members to inculcate the habit touching the lives of less privileged people in the society insisting that it is a social responsibility Nigerians should not shy away from.

"The charity visit is very important and I enjoin all graduates of Imo state university to take this very seriously. Come out wearing your mufflers. It is the beginning of the year and it is apt for us to start it by celebrating with these special people God has given us to cater for.

" I assure you all, the year will be fruitful for all of us if we invest the needed commitment, energy and resources in this all important task.  When you take care of these special people, God has a way of replenishing your purse and coming to your aid in times of challenges. The year is young and we will most definitely come across challenges in the course of the year. This visit is meant to fortify us from these challenges. God does not abandon His own. It is wise that we identify with this course.

" At no point should we shy away from helping the needy. At no point should we remove ourselves from touching lives. Once we back out of doing these things, things will start getting difficult for us.
As a leader, I want all of us to progress and be progressive. charity and alms giving is an important life of a christian and an important oblgation of this chapter. It has come to stay. It is part of our effort to thank God for providing for us all and providing an avenue for us give back to Him", he said.
